Janie Jacks is a military wife whose late husband, Ken Jacks, flew more than 100 combat missions in both Korea and Vietnam. She writes the blog Janie’s Cup of Tea and plays a mean marimba. The Letter is her first book. With strong lasting ties to Pryor, Oklahoma, she now makes her home in Edmond, Oklahoma.
The Letter is my first book, a novel, set during the Vietnam War in the sixties; it tells the story of a military family from Oklahoma. The narrator is a young girl named Becky whose greatest challenge is having been born to a very uncurious mother in very interesting times.
